you should check out the movie ‘waking life.’
a friend of mine in high school gave it to me as a gift, when i’d never seen it. i felt like it was pointless to give me a dvd of something i may potentially dislike, or even hate, but lady luck favored me and i love the film. it’s a live-action rotoscoped film, which is a type of animation that people i dislike say makes you feel like you’re on acid. people i like just appreciate it and don’t make idiot comments.
anyway, the whole film just tracks this one guy while he’s in this totally lucid dream state talking to all these people about philosophical shit like politics, posthumanity, reality, free will, that garbage. it’s brilliant to watch, and to discuss during and after.
